ACTIVITIES

We have a rich programme of coffee mornings, lunches, cultural outings and special interest groups (crafts, books, cooking):

Formal meeting
Normally held on the 4th Thursday of the month in a member’s home. An agenda is discussed followed by social catch-up. These meetings normally last a couple of hours.

Book Group
Held on the 3rd Thursday of each month. Everyone takes a turn to choose a book, host the meeting and run the discussion. The books are wide-ranging and the discussions, lively. It helps that we enjoy coffee and cake at the same time!

Textile Group
This creative group meets on the third Tuesday of each month. Anything can be included from sewing, knitting, crochet, quilting or embroidery.

Coffee Mornings
These are held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. Members suggest great local cafes. It is a relaxed way to get together and have a chat over coffee and also discover neighbourhood coffee spots.

Arts & Culture
Held monthly and includes specially selected outings to galleries, museums, and neighbourhoods. Wherever possible, these trips are guided and followed by coffee or lunch so we can chew over what we’ve experienced and learned.

Gourmet
Held either monthly or bi-monthly. We all choose a recipe from a food magazine and put together a three course lunch menu. Everyone has a turn at hosting in their homes. It’s great fun as we critique all the recipes. alcohol included of course!

Alongside these regular activities, we enjoy visits to gardens, movies, one-off activities such as Horse riding, Flower arrangement, Cake decorating, to name a few. As we said, we are curious and active. So if there’s something you are interested in that we don’t do yet, we would be open to giving it a go.
